- I wonder if these people all do their laundry together…
- This reminds me of some Kids In The Hall skit…
- This reminds me of some book… what is it?
Thanks to JABFinger for this one. He says:
Danish photographer Peter Funch stakes New York City street corners out for two weeks at a time, taking pictures of passersby from the very same spot. But what he does next may be even more labor-intensive.
For his “Babel Tales” photo series, Funch picked dozens of samey pedestrians — smokers, cell-phone gabbers, hospital-scrubs wearers, yawners — and Photoshopped them into the same frames. In one photo, Times Square shutterbugs turn into a swarm of paparazzi. In another, an ocean of kids seems to wash over the city. Funch has even created a New York where everyone carries flowers.
I love how on the first image on his site, you don’t really notice the theme, but when you see the second image, it becomes really apparent.
The kids one is my favorite.

Love the NY photos. You do in NY what I’ve been doing in Vancouver, B.C. for the last 15 years.

Those are really cool. I wonder how many stinkeyes he has to edit out of his pictures. I bet only 1 out of 50 people isn’t giving him a dirty look. My favorite person is the greasy princess with big boobs.

I guess if you’re working on a tripod with a cable-release, it might not be so hard to take pics without people really knowing.

In 15 years that I’ve been photographing people on the street, I have had less than a dozen asking me not to take their picture. Most people feel flattered.

I love the movement in the second shot.

i agree with above, most people dont give a damm if you take their pic in the street. so long as you dont look creepy… if you take a pic of someone, and make it obv you are shooting the scene with them in it… then 9/10 they will be flattered
