Like an asshat I went out 8 PM Friday night and didn’t return home until noon Saturday; I had to escort my mother to a Latina Red Dress (Heart Disease) Benefit only a few hours later which lasted until ten pm. Needless to say, by the time we made the thirty-mile drive home I was turning into quite the surly bitch myself. Sleep was my only priority.
Unfortunately, I missed the lovely Tina Fey on SNL which I had so been anticipating. But thanks to the homies at TVCrunch I didn’t have to miss out on all her displays of astute & biting bad-assery. Below, she returns, guns blazing, to the news desk:

Huh. Maybe it’s me, but…it seems like we got a double standard going here where a sexist term is ok when a racist term would get ya slammed.
Try this on for size….

How does that feel? Not too good for me. But it’s ok to use the word “Bitch”?
So we can call Hillary a bitch? As in she’s a woman and women is bitches?

and for what it’s worth, my comment was in response to Gigglechick’s site, especially in reference to the Hillary/Bitch t-shirts and buttons.
I’m not tryna start a fight, I’m tryna get my mind around what’s going on in our society and when i see something like that it raises questions for me, and so I pose the questions for thee.

Dirt: I think you should watch the clip before getting too touchy.
I can see the double standard here, but I don’t see any significant harm in riding an SNL tagline like this. She’s not going to make or break national sexism (or a national campaign to take back the term).
The real question here is, “can we make black is the new black” shirts when Obama wins?
